Akihabara Tokyo

by John Kotsaftis

I am currently in Tokyo, Japan attending an internet conference organised by our group. We hold these every year, usually in a technologically advanced nation. We bring in executives and sector specialists from around the group to meet, discuss technologies, trends and strategies. All very exciting and one of the great advantages of working for the Naspers Group!

On a lighter note however, I have been walking around the streets of Tokyo, particularly in the Akihabara district which is the technology mecca of Japan. We walked into the district filled with tons of tech shops etc, and came across a huge tech store called “Yodobashi Multimedia Life”.

I saw a few things that either impressed me or made me chuckle – so armed with the poor camera in my Blackberry I took a few snaps for you to see. Here goes!

This is a huge laptop with a 640Gb hard drive, 4Gb RAM and a 22inch screen - laptop hmm i think not.
